"Pinching Pennies" Literally

The purpose of this activity is to practice the pincer grasp while picking up the pennies to prepare little hands for learning to use a pencil properly.  It's easy to put together and fun.  I used an empty and cleaned infant formula can with lid and a slit cut on the lid to fit the pennies in.  I guess you can also just use a cup to collect the pennies but that wasn't working for MD because he would grab handfulls of pennies and throw them in the cup.  The small slit in the can forces him to pick them up and place them in it one by one.
